Editorial Policy

This policy describes the standards VerdictHarbor applies to reviews, comparisons, buying guides, and informational content.

Editorial independence

Editorial conclusions should be based on reader usefulness, evidence, and clearly explained tradeoffs. Commission rates do not determine rankings, recommendations, or inclusion.

Accuracy and sourcing

We prefer primary and authoritative sources, including official documentation, product specifications, pricing pages, policies, regulatory materials, and vendor support resources. Important or changeable facts should be dated and checked before publication.

Research versus firsthand testing

VerdictHarbor does not claim firsthand use, ownership, or testing unless it occurred and can be documented. Research-based analysis is labeled and should not be presented as a laboratory or hands-on test.

Reviews and comparisons

Commercial articles should explain who an option is best for, who should skip it, the decision criteria used, meaningful alternatives, important disadvantages, and the evidence behind the conclusion.

Affiliate relationships

Affiliate relationships must be disclosed clearly near relevant recommendations or links. Sponsored access, free products, or other material relationships must also be disclosed when applicable.

Corrections and updates

Material errors should be corrected promptly. Updates that materially change a conclusion should be reflected in the article and, where useful, noted for readers.

Use of editorial tools

Research, organization, and editing tools may assist the publishing process. They do not replace source verification, editorial judgment, or responsibility for the final article.
